UNLUCKY NUMBERS

TODAY IS FRIDAY THE 17TH - In Italy a day thought to be unlucky because rearranging the Roman numeral XVII can create the word "VIXI" translated from Latin to mean "my life is over."

Oggi è Venerdì 17, in Italia un giorno creduto sfortunato perché riordinando XVII numero romano si può creare la parola "VIXI" che in latino significa "la mia vita è finita."

In other countries, different numbers are thought to be just as unlucky.

In altri paesi numeri diversi si pensa siano altrettanto sfortunati. 

THE NUMBER 3 - In Vietnam, Japan there is a popular superstition that if a photo was taken with 3 people, it is likely that the middle person will die.

In Vietnam e in Giappone c'è una superstizione popolare che se una foto mostra 3 persone, è probabile che la persona di mezzo morirà.

THE NUMBER 4 – This number is bad luck in the far east. The pronunciation of the number four in Japanese is very similar to the word death, and because of this, four has been considered bad luck in Japan, Korea and China. It is considered very bad luck to give a gift that is made up of four pieces to someone. Many buildings do not have a fourth floor.

Questo numero porta sfortuna in Estremo Oriente. La pronuncia del numero quattro in giapponese è molto simile alla parola "morte" e per questo, quattro è considerato sfortunato in Giappone, Corea e Cina. Porta molta sfortuna dare a qualcuno un regalo che si compone di quattro pezzi. Molti edifici non hanno un quarto piano.

The number 13 is also connected to the lunar cycle as there are 13 full moons in a single year. The full moon is believed to negatively affect the sanity and emotions of people. Friday the 13th is one of the most well-known cultural superstitions and is associated with the massacre of the Knights Templar on Friday the 13th in 1307. The number 13 is even considered to be unlucky in Persian culture.

La paura del numero 13 è così comune nella cultura occidentale che la fobia ha un proprio nome - triscaidecafobia. Questo è il motivo per cui la maggior parte degli edifici in Nord America non hanno un piano 13 °. THE NUMBER 26 - In India this is an unlucky number: the earthquake Gurjat occurred Jan. 26, 2001, the tragic 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami that killed 230,000 people on December 26. Then there are the bombs exploded in Guwahati on May 26 in 2007 and the terrorist attacks in Mumbai of 26 November 2008.

In India questo numero è creduto sfortunato: un terremoto si è verificato a Gurjat  il 26 gennaio 2001, il tragico tsunami del 2004 nell'Oceano Indiano che ha ucciso 230.000 persone, il 26 dicembre. THE NUMBER 250 - In China, the number 250 is considered an insult. It depends on the pronunciation in Mandarin: "er bai wu," sounds like "stupid". But 250 is also a quarter of 1000, standard measure that in ancient China was used to indicate to something of value (in money). So 250 would indicate something of little value.

In Cina, il numero 250 è considerato un insulto. Dipende dalla pronuncia in mandarino: "er bai wu," suona come "imbecille ". The Bulgarian mobile phone company Mobitel has suspended the phone number 0888 888 888 after three people had this number have died in just 10 years. The first was Vladimir Grashnov, the former CEO of the company, the number was subsequently given to the druglord Konstantin Dimitrov, who was killed in Holland, and finally to his friend: the drug trafficker, Konstantin Dishliev, assassinated in 2005 .

La società di telefonia mobile bulgara Mobitel ha sospeso il numero di telefono 0888 888 888 dopo che tre persone che avevano questo numero sono morte in soli 10 anni. The weeverfish lives in shallow and sandy waters

Uscite dall’acqua, togliete eventuali anelli (se la parte interessata è la mano) e asportate eventuali pezzetti delle spine dorsali!

Lavate la parte  e immergete la mano o il piede in acqua calda al limite della tollerabilità per circa 30-60 minuti. Il veleno di questo pesce è inattivato dal calore.

Dieci cose da sapere sulle zanzare! 

1 - There are at least 3000 kinds of mosquito, of which 70 presents in Italy. Not all attach the man: the majority prefers birds, amphibians and invertebrates.

Ci sono almeno 3000 specie di zanzara, di cui 70 presenti in Italia. Non tutte attaccano l'uomo: la maggior parte preferisce uccelli, anfibi e invertebrati.

Solo le femmine fecondate pungono, perché il sangue è ricco di proteine necessarie allo sviluppo delle uova. 

3 - The mosquitoes prefer the drinkers of beer and of alcoholic. Perhaps because they  produce larger quantities of acetone, ethanol and methanol through sweat. However the mosquitoes are attracted by carbon dioxide, released from the breath and skin, and lactic acid, which can detect up to 30 meters.

Le zanzare preferiscono i bevitori di birra e di alcolici. Forse perché producono grandi quantità di acetone, etanolo e metanolo attraverso il sudore. Tuttavia le zanzare sono attratte dal biossido di carbonio, rilasciato dal respiro e dalla pelle, e dall'acido lattico, che possono rilevare fino a 30 metri.

We also know at least two orchids of the genus Platanthera that receive the pollen from the mosquitos. In nature nothing is useless at best we ignore the purpose.

Non è vero che sono inutili! Le specie Aedes impiger e Aedes nigripes (per fare giusto un esempio), diffuse in Canada e Russia, forniscono un'importante risorsa di cibo agli uccelli migratori. Conosciamo anche almeno due orchidee del genere Platanthera che ricevono il polline dalle zanzare. In natura nulla è inutile: tuttalpiù ne ignoriamo lo scopo. 

6 - An adult mosquito lives at the most 5/6 months without estranging too much from the place where emerged from the mature pupa. But the mosquitoes of the brackish swamps can for example travel for 150 km.

Un adulto di zanzara vive al massimo 5/6 mesi, senza allontanarsi troppo dal luogo di sfarfallamento. Ma le zanzare delle paludi salmastre possono ad esempio viaggiare per 150 km.
