This proposal package went up from its original $1.4 million price tag after the 4.71 carat ring it was famous for was no longer available. $25,000 Frozen "Haute" Chocolate at Serendipity 3 in New York City: This high-end version of the restaurant's Frrrozen hot chocolate was declared the world's most expensive dessert in 2007 by Guinness World Records. As for what makes it so expensive, in addition to the cocoas, frozen milk and whipped cream it's made with, five grams of 24-carat gold are mixed in, and it's garnished with La Madeline au Truffe (a truffle flown in from France). It's also served up with a gold spoon and in a goblet surrounded by a gold and diamond crown.

The $14,500 Fortress Stilt Fisherman Indulgence at The Fortress Resort and Spa in Sri Lanka: This decadent fruit-infused dessert is served up with an 80 carat aquamarine stone, and includes a gold leaf Italian cassata (a traditional Sicilian ice cream cake) flavored with Irish cream, mango and pomegranate. It even comes complete with a handmade chocolate carving in the shape of a local stilt fisherman.

The $5,000 FleurBurger 5000 at Fleur in Las Vegas:  Hubert Keller whipped up this creation in his Las Vegas' Mandalay Bay restaurant Fleur de Lys. The wagyu beef and foie gras burger patty is topped with truffle sauce and shaved black truffles and served on a brioche truffle bun. It's also accompanied by with a bottle of 1995 Chateau Petrus Bordeaux, which generally costs about $2,500 a bottle, and Ichendorf glasses, which you get to take home. Those who purchase this big-ticket meal also leave with a certificate of authenticity to prove they forked over the cash for it.

The $2,420 White Truffle and Gold Pizza at Margo's in Malta: Who needs a slice of a pepperoni from a neighborhood eatery, when you can feast on this? Rather than top this pizza with the typical toppings, this pie comes complete with truffles flown in from Piemonte, organic water buffalo mozzarella and a 24K gold leaf. Patrons who actually want to pay up for this one have to let the restaurant know a week in advance, and it's only available when the truffles are in season from October to May. "This is not just a pizza; this is a sign from God telling us how great She is," the menu says of the dish.

The astronomical Spring in the Northern Hemisphere begins on Monday, March 20 and will end on Wednesday, June 21.
La primavera astronomica nell'emisfero settentrionale inizia lunedì 20 marzo e si concluderà mercoledì 21 giugno.

The Spring equinox in the Northern Hemisphere is also known as the March equinox. It's called the "autumnal (fall) equinox" in the Southern Hemisphere.
L’equinozio di primavera nell'emisfero settentrionale è anche conosciuto come l'equinozio di marzo. Si chiama "equinozio d'autunno" nel sud del mondo.

The March equinox marks the moment the Sun crosses the celestial equator.  This happens on March 19, 20 or 21 every year. The dates of the equinoxes aren't fixed due to the Earth's elliptical orbit of the sun.
L'equinozio di marzo segna il momento in cui il Sole attraversa l'equatore celeste. Questo accade il 19 o il 20 oppure il 21 marzo di ogni anno. Le date degli equinozi non sono fisse a causa dell'orbita ellittica della Terra intorno al sole.

That's why the period preceding or following the spring equinox is one of the richest of feasts, ceremonies, beliefs and myths. Liturgies still lives today, and deeply felt.
Ecco perché il periodo che precede o segue l’equinozio di primavera è uno dei più ricchi di feste, cerimonie, credenze e miti. Liturgie vive ancora tutt’oggi e molto sentite.

At Chichen Itza, in Yucatan, the show of Mayan Temple of Kukulkan still  repeats.  At sunset, on the north stairway, it draws a pattern of light and shadows that create the image of a great feathered serpent, called Kukulkan, created by the inverted triangles under the light falling down from the steps of the pyramid.

At each equinox, thousands of people arrive in the archaeological sites of Mexico to contemplate the wonders left by the ancient Maya civilization.

In Japan, there is still the custom of enjoying the spring flowering of trees, especially cherry. The ritual, which takes its name Hanami literally "admire the flowers", is the most ancient Japanese tradition. And it is still widely felt today. During the cherry blossom season,  many move from their city to the most famous resorts in the country to attend the event.
In Giappone, c'è ancora l'usanza di godere della fioritura primaverile degli alberi, in particolare il ciliegio. Il rituale, che prende il nome di Hanami letteralmente "ammirare i fiori", è la più antica tradizione giapponese. Ed è ancora ampiamente sentita oggi. Durante la fioritura dei ciliegi, molti si spostano dalla loro città alle più famose località del paese per partecipare all'evento.

The festival is an opportunity to enjoy a picnic accompanied by sake aplenty in the shade of flowering trees. It continues even at night, where the Hanami changes name Yozakura, namely "The Night of Cherry." Cherry is for the Japanese symbol of frailty, but also of rebirth.
La festa è l'occasione per fare un picnic accompagnato da abbondante sake all'ombra degli alberi in fiore. Si continua anche di notte, dove l'Hanami cambia nome in Yozakura, vale a dire "La Notte del Ciliegio." Il ciliegio è il simbolo giapponese della fragilità, ma anche della rinascita.

In China, there is  the Qingming Festival, translated "pure and bright Day". Important national holiday, is celebrated a fortnight after the spring equinox.
In Cina, c'è la festa di Qingming, tradotto "Giorno pura e luminoso". Festa nazionale importante, si celebra una quindicina di giorni dopo l'equinozio di primavera. 

Tradition has it that on the day of Qingming Festival, people remove debris and weeds from the graves, making the wine offerings, rice, fruit, steamed buns or favorite foods of the deceased, to honor their deceased relatives. Additionally, after this event, there is a family trip, a sign to set aside the past and ... to reborn.
La tradizione vuole che il giorno della festa di Qingming, la gente rimuova  detriti ed erbacce dalle tombe, facendo offerte di vino, riso, frutta, panini al vapore o di cibi preferiti dal defunto, per onorare i loro parenti defunti. Inoltre, dopo questo evento, è previsto un viaggio di famiglia, un segno per mettere da parte il passato e ... per rinascere.

The kite is usually used on this day. At night it binds the kite in the small colored lanterns so that they appear like stars. People cut the kite string, it is believed good luck . For many Chinese families the Qingming Festival is truly a  obligation. People follow the traditions faithfully and consider the festival a moment to reflect and to honor ancestors.
In questo giorno è di solito usato l'aquilone. Di notte si lega l'aquilone a delle piccole lanterne colorate in modo che appaiano come stelle. La gente taglia il filo dell'aquilone, si ritiene porti fortuna. Per molte famiglie cinesi la festa di Qingming è veramente un obbligo. La gente segue le tradizioni fedelmente e considera la festa un momento per riflettere e per onorare gli antenati.

In Indonesian, we find Bali. In this place, every year, we celebrate the Nyepi Day, the Day of Silence that closes the Hindu year.
In Indonesia, troviamo Bali. In questo luogo, ogni anno, si celebra la Giornata di  Nyepi, la giornata del silenzio che chiude l'anno indù.

The people of Bali prepare gigantic and colorful papier-mâché masks. These represent the Dewa deities and demons Butha Kala, evil spirits to drive out to propitiate the passage from youth to adulthood.
La gente di Bali prepara gigantesche e colorate maschere di cartapesta. Queste rappresentano le divinità Dewa e i demoni Butha Kala, spiriti maligni da scacciare per propiziare il passaggio dalla giovinezza all'età adulta. 

The peculiarity of this day, is that all is quiet: no lights, closed shops, no phone, no one or nearly walking down the street. The inhabitants, in fact, believe that  you can fool the demons, making them believe that the island is uninhabited.
La particolarità di questa giornata, è che tutto è tranquillo: senza luci, i negozi chiusi, nessun telefono, nessuno o quasi cammina per strada. Gli abitanti, infatti, credono che si possano ingannare i demoni, facendo loro credere che l'isola è disabitata. 

But the next day, the island back to life and celebrates with dances and music, accompanying the Ogoh Ogoh procession. In this procession the puppets are brought to the beach and burned as a tribute to the gods, receiving serenity, harmony and a blessing for the new year.
Ma il giorno dopo, l'isola torna alla vita e festeggia con balli e musica, che accompagnano la processione di Ogoh Ogoh. In questa processione i fantocci vengono portati alla spiaggia e bruciati come omaggio agli dei, ricevendo serenità, armonia e una benedizione per il nuovo anno.

Another festival known and admired throughout the world,  is the Indian  Holi, "the festival of colors ".
Un altra festa conosciuta e ammirata in tutto il mondo, è l'indiana Holi, "la festa di colori". 

In many expect this festival throughout the year, and is also one of the oldest of Hindu mythology.
In molti aspettano questa festa durante tutto l'anno, ed è anche una delle più antiche della mitologia indù. 

It is celebrated on the day following the first full moon night (dhulhendi) in Phalgun month.
Si celebra il giorno successivo la prima notte di luna piena (dhulhendi) nel  mese di Phalgun.

During this night, thousands bonfires are lit, illuminating the dark, to celebrate the departure of the spirits and the victory of good over evil. The term holi  means "burning" in Hindi.
Durante questa notte, migliaia di falò vengono accesi, illuminando il buio, per celebrare la partenza degli spiriti e la vittoria del bene sul male. Il termine Holi significa "bruciare" in Hindi.

But the fun takes place the next day: in the streets every Indian brings  colored powders  water and flowers.

Since 1500, Prague celebrates the arrival of Spring with an exhibition in honor of St. Matthew. According to the tradition, he is the apostle who  "breaks the ice" and closes doors to Winter and opens them  to Spring.

The Celts had noticed the expansion and reduction of the days relative to the various positions that the Sun takes on the horizon.

The event is based on the old custom of carpenters to celebrate their patron saint, St. Joseph, precisely on March 19.

During the festivities, people give fire  to sheaves of wheat and maize  that have been specially preserved from the previous year, in the hope that the flames are able to burn all the dangerous enemies of plants and to clean the earth and the water by evil .
Durante i festeggiamenti, la gente dà fuoco a covoni di grano e mais che sono stati appositamente conservati dall'anno precedente, nella speranza che le fiamme siano in grado di bruciare tutti i nemici pericolosi delle piante e di pulire la terra e l'acqua dal male.

These superstitious rituals or faith or both? It's not important! Spring gives the world positivity and lightness, redemption and prayer, joy and color, abundance and new beginning. Spring is the season when you can start living again.
Sono questi riti superstizione o fede o entrambi? Non è importante! La primavera porta al mondo  positività e leggerezza, redenzione e preghiera, allegria e colori, abbondanza e nuovo inizio. La primavera è la stagione in cui si può ricominciare a vivere.
